થોડીક દૂરથી જ મીઠો મીઠો કુહૂ કુહૂ નો અવાજ સંભળાય કે તરત મોટા ભાગના લોકોને ખબર પડી જાય કે આસપાસ કોયલ છે. આંખ લાલ રંગની, નરનું આખું શરીર કાળા રંગનું ચળકતું, જ્યારે માદા સાદી લાગે. તેનું આખું શરીર નાના નાના સફેદ ટપકાં અને લીટીઓથી ભરેલું હોય છે. મધુર અવાજ સાંભળવા મળે છે તે નરનો હોય.
जब कहीं मधुर 'कुहु-कुहु' सुनाई पड़ता है, हमे पता चल जाता है की आसपास कहीं कोयल है। आंखे लाल, नर का शरीर चमकते काले रंग का, जब की मादा का शरीर सादा होता है। मादा के शरीर पे सफ़ेद बिंदी व रेखा के धब्बे नज़र आते है। जो मधुर आवाज़ हम सुनते हैं वो नर की होती है।
The moment we hear sweet Koo-oo Koo-oo, we come to know there is an "Asian Koel" around. Red Eyes. Males have whole black body and is glossy, while females are simpler. Females have small white spots like dots and lines all over their body. The sweet call we hear is of males.
