Help Bird In Summer
Hello Everyone.
We are Prakrutiparichay.
As the Summer begins, we receive lots of messages to put out feeders for birds. Putting out feeders is a good idea but if we keep few little things in mind, then we will be able to help them more. Like, Keeping the feeder in same place the entire year so that birds can remember that exact spot. that way the birds can get water each time.
If possible then we should put two feeders, one with just water and the other with glucose mixed water. if we have only one feeder then 2 spoon glucose should be mixed in it. Now, Since the bird has become our daily guest, Will we just let it go with just water ?
if no, then we can put different fruits and different seeds, hence different birds can eat whatever they like. It's not necessary that every bird eats seeds. So, This summer, We should absolutely do this much. -

હું નવરંગ. તમે મને જોયો જ હશે. બહુ બધી ચોપડીઓમાં મને કવર પેજ પર સ્થાન મળ્યું છે. મને તમારાથી ખાસ કોઇ ડર નથી લાગતો, સિવાય કે તમે મને હેરાન કરો. તમારી હાજરીમાં પણ હું ખોરાક માટે જમીન પર નાના-નાના જંતુઓ શોધ્યા કરું છું. અમે બંને નર-માદા ભેગા મળીને ગોળ દડા જેવું ઘર બનાવીએ છીએ. જો તમે હજુ પણ મારા શરીર પર આવેલા નવ અલગ અલગ રંગો જોયા ના હોય તો જોઈ લો! એટલે જ બધા મને નવરંગ કહે છે.
I am Navrang (Eng: Indian Pitta). You must have seen me. I have found place on cover pages of many books. I don’t fear you, unless you harass me. I look around for insects to eat even in your presence. Both of us—male and female—together make ball-shaped (spherical) nest. See nine different colours on my body, hence my Indian name Navarang (lit: nine colors in Hindi).
मैं नवरंग। आपने मुजे देखा ही होगा। काफी सारी किताबों में मुजे कवर पेज पे जगह मिली है। अगर आप मुजे परेशान न करें तो मुजे आप से कुछ डर नहीं लगता है। आपकी मौजूदगी में ही मैं खाने के लिए जमीन पर छोटे जीव जन्तु ढूँढता रहता हूँ। हम दोनों नर और मादा मिल के गोल गेंद जैसा घर बनाते हैं। आपने मेरे शरीर पे नौं अलग अलग रंगों को देखा ही होगा। इसीलिए मुजे नवरंग कहते हैं। -

ચાલો આજે આપણે કાળા કાગડા વિશે વાત કરીએ. શું તમને તરત વિચાર આવ્યો કે 'કાગડા તો બધા કાળા જ હોય ને' એમ? ના, એવું નથી. સૌથી વધુ જોવા મળતા ઘરકાગડા ની ડોક, પીઠ અને ગળુ રાખોડી રંગનું હોય છે જ્યારે આપણો આ ગિરનારી કાગડો આખો કાળો અને વધુ ભરાવદાર લાગે. આનો અવાજ પણ ઓછો કર્કશ હોય છે. અને સ્વભાવ ઘરકાગડા જેવો ચોરી વાળો નથી હોતો.
"चलिए आज हम काले कौए के बारे में बात करतें हैं। आप सोच रहे होंगे ""कौआ तो काला ही होता है न?"" जी नहीं। घर कौआ-जिसे हम रोज़ देखते हैं-उसकी गर्दन, गला और पीठ धूसर होते है, जबकी जंगली कौआ पूरा काला और ज्यादा मोटा होता है। आवाज़ भी कम कर्कश और स्वभाव घर कौए जैसा चोरी वाला नहीं होता।"
"Let us talk about black crow today. Are you thinking:""what? all crows are black!"" Well, no. The house crows we see regularly has throat, neck and back of Grey color, while this Jungle Crow is fully black and plumper. Also, it sounds less raucous and is not opportunist like house crow." -

એ નકટા!' તમને કોઈ આવી રીતે બોલાવે તો ગમશે? મને ના પૂછતા કેમકે મારું તો નામ જ નકટો છે. ખબર નહિ નામ પડતી વખતે મારી ચાંચની ઉપર આવેલો ટેકરો દેખાયો કે નહિ, જે મને મારા કુટુંબના બીજા સભ્યોથી અલગ તારવે છે. મારી ચાંચ કાળી અને પગ લીલાશ પડતા છે. મારી ડોકી પર કાળાં ટપકાં અને પાંખો પર જાંબલી અને લીલો રંગ દેખાશે. અમારી મુખ્ય નિશાની રૂપી આ ટેકરો ખાલી નરને જ હોય છે.
ए नकटे!' आप को कोई ऐसे बुलाये तो अच्छा लगेगा? मुजे मत पूछिएगा क्योंकि मेरा तो नाम ही नकटा है। पता नहीं नाम रखने के समय मेरी चोंच के ऊपर रहा उभार किसिने देखा की नहीं। इसी उभार से हम दूसरे बतकों से अलग नज़र आते है। मेरी चौंच काले रंग की और पैर थोड़े से हरे रंग के होते है। मेरी गरदन पर काली बिंदियाँ और पंख बैंगनी और हरे होते है। हमारी मुख्य पहचान रूप यह उभार सिर्फ नर पक्षियों मे होता है।

Due to the bump we are also called ""Comb duck"". My beak is black and legs are greenish. There are black dots on my neck and my wings are purple and green." -

હું ઘુવડ કુળનું સભ્ય હોવા છતાં પુરેપુરું નિશાચર નથી. મારી આંખો પણ તમારા જેમજ સામેની બાજુ છે. અને તમારે નાક છે ત્યાં મારી પાસે ચાંચ છે. મારી આંખો મોટી અને પીળી છે. મારું આખું શરીર રાખોડી અને એમાં સફેદ ટપકા છે. ખબર નથી બધા કેમ મને અપશુકનિયાળ પંખી સમજે છે. હું પણ બીજા બધા પંખીઓની જેમજ છું. શું તમે મારી વધુ નજીક આવીને મને ઓળખશો?
वैसे तो मैं उल्लूओं में से एक हूँ पर मैं पूरी तरह निशाचर नहीं हूँ। आपकी तरह ही मेरी आँखे आगे हैं और जहां आपकी नाक हैं वहां मेरी चौंच है। मेरी आँखे बड़ी और पिली हैं। मेरा शरीर धूसर रंग का और उसमे सफ़ेद चित्तियाँ होती हैं। पता नहीं क्यूँ कुछ लोग मुजे मनहूस मानते हैं। मैं भी दूसरे पक्षिओं की तरह एक पक्षी हूँ। आप मेरे और करीब आ कर मुझे पहचानना चाहेंगे?
Though I belong to family of owls, I am not completely nocturnal. Jusy like you humans, my eyes are in front and my beak is where you have nose. My eyes are big and yellow. My whole body is greyish with white spots on it. I don't know why some humans consider me unlucky. I am a bird just like others. Would you like to come closer and know more about me? -

Size: House Crow+ (48 cm).
કાગડાની ખાલી પાંખો બજરિયા રંગથી રંગી દીધી હોય અને આંખોમાં ચણોઠી ચોંટાડી એવુજ આ પંખી છે. ચાલવાની રીત એકદમ અલગ જેમ રેડ કાર્પેટ પર હિરોઇન કપડાં જમીન પર લહેરાવીને ચાલે એવુજ રીતે આ પંખી પૂંછડી જમીન ને લગાવી ને ફરે. કોયલ કુળના બહુજ ઓછા પખીઓ છે જે માળાઓ બનાવે આ એમનું એક પંખી છે.
कौऐ के पंखो को गेहरे खाकी रंग से रंग दीया हों ओर आखों मे गूंजा चिपका दिया हो ऐसा ऐ पक्षी है। चलनेका शरीका एकदम अलग, जेसे रेड कार्पेट पे हीरोइन अपने कपड़े ज़मीन पर लहेरके चलती है, ऐसे ही ऐ पक्षी पुंछ को जमीन पे लगा के धूमता है। कोयल वंश के बहुत कम पक्षी है जो धोसला बनाते है, उसमे से ए एक पक्षी है।
Crow's wings seem as if they got painted gray and their eyes looks as if they got chirmi seeds implanted in. They walk like those Famous Celebrities do on red carpet with their tail moving fashionably. They are the exceptional birds of the cuckoo clan who make nests. -

દૂરથી ચકવાને જો કોઈ જોઈ શકે તો પહેલી નજર એની મોટી પીળી આંખ પર જ નજર પડે. જ્યારે પણ તેને ડર લાગે ત્યારે જમીન પર બેસી જાય, પછી તેને શોધવું બધું મુશ્કેલ થઈ પડે. પગ પીળા શરીર રાખોડી ભૂખરું, કાળી અને પીળી રેખાઓ હોય છે. વધુ પડતું જમીન પર રહેવાથી ઉત્ક્રાંતિ એ તેની આંગળીઓ જ આગળ કરી દીધી જેથી તે જમીન પર મસ્ત રહે અને ઝાડ પર જોવા જ ના મળે.
कोई अगर दूर से इस पक्षी को देखेतो सबसे पहले उसकी बड़ी पिली आँख पे ही नज़र जाए। डर लगने पर ज़मीन पर जा बैठे इसलिए ढूंढना बड़ा कठिन हो जाए। पैर पीले और बदन भूरा उस पर काली और पिली रेखाएं दिखे। ज़्यादातर ज़मीन पे रहने के कारण उत्क्रांतिने इसकी उंगलियों को आगे ही कर दिया है ताकी ये ज़मीन पे मस्त रह सके और पेड़ों पे न दिखे।
You notice first its big yellow eyes when you see a Stone Curlew. When feared, it sits on ground, and becomes difficult to locate. Yello legs, body sandy brown with dark black and yellow streaks. It is a ground bird. Due to more and more sitting on the ground, the evolution has gifted them stout legs and think knees so that it can stay happy on grounds without worrying about trees. -

Size: Black Headed Ibis- (68 cm)
ઉકરડાની આસપાસ ફરતું કાળા રંગનું પંખી જેની ચાંચ લાંબી અને આગળથી વળેલી હોય છે. માથા પર લાલ રંગનું ધાબું જે દૂરથી પણ દેખાય ને જેની ચામડી ખરબચડી લાગે. પાંખ પર સફેદ રંગનો ડાઘ દેખાય અને આખા શરીર પર જાંબલી રંગ ઉપરથી ભભરાયો હોય એવું લાગે તે પંખી એટલે કાળી કાંકણસાર.
कचरे के ढेर के आसपास घूमता काले रंग का पक्षी जिसकी चौंच लंबी और आगे से मुड़ी हुई होती है। सिर पर लाल रंग का धब्बा जो दूर से भी दिखे और उसकी चमड़ी खुरदरी लगे। पंखों पर सफ़ेद दाग दिखे और पूरे शरीर पर बैंगनी रंग छिड़का हुआ हो ऐसा लगे वही पक्षी है हमारा करांकुल।
This is the black colored bird seen near dumps who has long downcurved bill. It has a patch of crimson red warty skin on its nape or head which can be identified even from a good distance. There is a white patch on the shoulders or wings. Its body looks sprinkled with purple color all over. Yes, that is the Red Naped Ibis! -

Size: Cattle Egret - (42-45 cm)
પાણીકાંઠે બેઠું હોય તો આપણને જલ્દી દેખાય જ નહીં. તેથી જ તે કાણી બગલી તરીકે ઓળખાય છે. તેની ડોક બીજા બગલા કરતા નાની હોય. ચાંચમાં એક સાથે ત્રણ રંગ જોવા મળે. શરૂઆતમાં કાળો પછી પીળો અને પછી વાદળી. આંખ પીળી છે અને શરીર ખાખી બદામી રંગનું. પ્રજનન ૠતુમાં રંગ વધુ ઘેરો બની જાય અને મસ્ત કલગી પણ ઉગે.
छोटे तालाबों के पास ऐसे बैठा हो की दिखे भी नहीं। इसीलिए इसे अँधा बगुला बोलते हैं। दूसरे बगुलों से गरदन छोटी। चौंच में एक साथ तीन रंग दिखे। शुरू में काला फिर पिला और सर के पास आसमानी नीला। पिली आँखे और भूरा शरीर। प्रजनन ऋतू में रंग गहरा बने और कलगी भी देखने को मिले। .
It is found near small waterbodies, hence called Indian Pond Heron. It becomes difficult to locate it near ponds due to its color and structure. It has shorter neck compared to other herons. Its short thick bill has three colors. Black at the edge, followed by yellow and than sky-blue. Yellow eyes, buff-brown body. In breeding season, the body plumage gets darker, and a tuft is also developed. -

"દેશી સમડી" આ પક્ષીને શિકારીની યાદીમાં રાખવામાં આવેલ છે. બીજા પક્ષીઓથી એને ઓળખવાની અલગ નિશાની છે–એની ખાંચવાળી પૂંછડી, જે બીજા કોઈ પક્ષી પાસે નથી.
"काली चील" यह पक्षी शिकारी पक्षीओ की श्रेणी में आता हे। इसे दूसरे पक्षीओसे अलग करने का स्पष्ट संकेत हे -उसकी काँटे जैसी नोंकवाली पूंछ, जो अन्य किसी पक्षी के पास नहीं हे।
Black Kite" This bird is categorized under birds of prey. The clear sign of differentiating them from others is-their forked tail, which no other such birds have. -

Size: Little Egret - (48-53 cm)
ઢોરની પીઠ પર બિંદાસ ઉભો હોય, ઢોરના ચાલવાથી જે જીવજંતુ બહાર નીકળે તરત પકડી ને ખાઈ જાય. આખું શરીર સફેદ પણ ચોમાસામાં માથા અને ડોક પર નારંગી રંગના પીંછા આવે. ચાંચ હંમેશા પીળી જ રહે અને પગ કાળા. બગલા જ્યારે ઉડે ત્યારે માથા ને ખભાની અંદર ખેચીલે.
ढ़ोर (पशु) की पीठ पर बिंदास बैठे। उनके चलने से जो जीवजंतु बहार निकलते है उनको तुरंत लपक के खा जाये। चौंच पीली और पैर काले। पूरा शरीर सफ़ेद पर बारिश के मौसम में सिर और गरदन पर नारंगी रंग के पंख निकले। उड़ते वक्त गरदन को सिकुड़ कर सिर को कंधों के अंदर कर ले। Sits on cattle, carelessly.
Feed on insects and prey disturbed by cattle while they walk. Yellow bill and black legs. It has whole white plumage, but crown and breast develop buffy orange plumes in breeding season. It flies with its neck retracted.
