પોપટનું બીજું નામ "સૂડો" થી ઓળખાય છે. ઘણા એવું પણ માનતા હોય છે કે ગુલાબી કાંઠલો હોય તે પોપટ અને ના હોય તે સૂડો પણ એવું નથી સાચી વાત એવી છે કે કાંઠલો હોય તે નર અને ના હોય તે માદા.

तोता भारत में "सुडो" नाम से जाना जाता है। बहुत से लोग ऐसा मानते है कि गर्दन पर गुलाबी घेरा है मतलब तोता और नहीं है मतलब सुडो। लेकिन असल में गुलाबी घेरे वाला नर होता है, और बिना घेरेवाली मादा।

The parrot is known as "sudo" in India. Many believe that if there is no ring in the neck it is "sudo" and the ring is in the neck its parrot but It is true that there is a male who does have a ring.
